Nuru Massage During Pride Amsterdam: Canal Parade Week
Nuru massage during Pride Amsterdam, from the opening weekend to the Canal Parade: August heat, peak-date deposits and the quieter hours to choose.
Pride Amsterdam fills the city for more than a week at the turn of July and August, with street parties, concerts and, on the first Saturday of August, the Canal Parade, when decorated boats move along the Prinsengracht and the Amstel past hundreds of thousands of spectators. Visitors come from all over the world, and hotels in the centre fill early. For guests who want a quiet, slow hour away from the celebration, a nuru massage during Pride Amsterdam works well, provided a few things are planned.
Who books and how
Every guest is welcome, men and women, and every therapist on the roster is a woman. The booking works exactly as it does the rest of the year: one message with the technique, the address, the time and the length. Nothing about the message needs to explain who you are or why you are in the city. Couples are welcome too, with one therapist attending each partner in turn or a therapist each; the arrangements are set out on the nuru for couples page.
Nuru massage during Pride Amsterdam as a peak week
Pride week is on the house's list of peak dates. Every booking during it is confirmed with half of the fee sent in advance, by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto, including a same-day hour for a guest the house already knows. The remainder is paid on arrival, in notes of any major currency, by card or in crypto. A deposit placed for Pride is not refunded on cancellation; one change of date is possible if you ask more than twenty-four hours before, to a day within the following two weeks.
The heat question
Early August can be warm in Amsterdam, and many older hotels and apartments have no air conditioning. That is less of a problem for nuru than guests expect. The gel still needs to be warm to feel comfortable, because it is mostly water and cools the skin as it spreads, but the room does not need extra heating on a hot evening. Keep the windows closed during the session so the noise and the draught stay out, draw the curtains against the late sun, and set a fan to blow away from the bed. The house's note on nuru in hot weather goes into more detail.
Choosing the hours
- Parade Saturday, morning: quiet and easy to book. A session before the boats set off leaves you relaxed for a long afternoon outdoors.
- Parade Saturday, evening: the most requested slot of the week. Book it days ahead.
- Weeknights during Pride: busier than usual but manageable, especially before nine or after midnight.
- The Sunday after the parade: a popular day for recovery sessions before flights home.
After a day at the parade
Watching the Canal Parade means hours in the sun, often standing on a bridge or a quay, with music, drinks and very little shade. Before the therapist arrives, drink a lot of water, have a cool shower to bring your temperature down, and rinse off sunscreen and glitter, which do not mix well with the gel. Rest for twenty minutes if you can. If you are sunburnt, say so in the message: the therapist can avoid the burnt skin or suggest a lighter session in oil, and gel on sunburn is not pleasant.
A guest who has had a great deal to drink is better served by a morning booking the next day. A therapist may postpone a session if a guest is not steady, and that counts as a cancellation under the house terms.
Rates for Pride week
Figures do not change during Pride. With one therapist, a single guest pays €180 for an hour, €270 for ninety minutes and €360 for two hours. A couple with one therapist is on the couple row at €360 for an hour and €720 for two, and a couple with a therapist each is on the couple, two-therapist row at €720 for an hour. Two therapists for a single guest are €360 an hour. Every row is shown in each therapist profile.
Write nuru and Pride, your hotel or street, the time and the length on WhatsApp. The office answers in about ten minutes with a name and deposit details, and the therapist reaches the centre forty to sixty minutes after the half clears. Guests must be twenty-one or above, during Pride and every other week of the year.
