Two therapists, one massage. The difficulty is not the second pair of hands but the timing — four hands on the same body, mirrored or deliberately offset, close enough that you stop being able to count them. It is the technique people choose once they already know what a single therapist can do.
What to expect
The two agree the shape of the hour before they begin, because the work only holds together if the pressure matches. Usually one leads and the other follows — the same stroke arriving twice, either side of the spine — and then the pattern breaks, one at the shoulders and one at the feet, and you give up tracking it. That surrender is the whole effect. They speak to each other very little, and the room stays quiet.
Who it suits
It suits a guest who has had a great deal of ordinary massage and wants something his attention cannot follow. Ninety minutes or two hours; an hour is over at about the point where the two separate.
What it leaves you with
A deep and faintly disorienting rest: the nervous system stops predicting where the next touch is coming from, which is the shortest way out of a busy head.
Origin
Two practitioners working one body in symmetry is a documented feature of Ayurvedic abhyanga in Kerala, where the pair is the standard arrangement and the synchrony is trained rather than improvised. European spa work borrowed the format much later and kept its one essential requirement, which is that the two agree on pressure before they agree on anything else. Nothing about the idea is new; what varies between one pair and another is how closely they are actually matched.
The technique itself
The two set tempo before they set sequence, because hands moving at different speeds read as interruption and the whole effect depends on there being none. For the first stretch they mirror — the same stroke arriving at the same moment either side of the spine — which the body takes for one very wide hand. Then they separate, one at the shoulders and one at the calves, working independently but at a single tempo, and the counting stops. They speak almost not at all, keeping time by contact rather than by instruction.

What does it cost for the two of them?
€360 an hour, which is €720 for two hours and €1,080 for three. An overnight with two therapists is quoted on enquiry rather than published as a figure. Nothing is added for the hour of the night, for a weekend, or for travel inside the ring.
Do they arrive together?
Together, in the same twenty to thirty minute window that holds anywhere in the centre. They arrive dressed, in uniform, and they will have agreed the shape of the hour between themselves before they knock.
Can four hands be worked with gel rather than oil?
Yes. The medium is a separate choice from the number of hands, and nuru gel or warm oil both work for a pair — the gel wants a warmer room and a waterproof sheet, and she brings both. Say which you want when you book.
