More of the late calls in the Centrum reach her than anyone on the roster, partly because odd hours suit her and partly because street noise at that time does not touch her. Twenty-three by about two months, she is very difficult to surprise and has never once pretended otherwise. Small hands, solved by forearms and body weight: pressure builds slowly and then stays, the gel kept hot enough that the glide never stutters. Her English is plain and fast, and her Czech surfaces when she is amused, which is oftener than her face lets on.

Betsy decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
